Warm days, sun, the ocean, cocktails…YES! An itchy sunburn? Hm, not so much!
But still, sometimes we have to deal with them. Instead of a variety of products and chemicals, here are a few foods we can use that heal from these burns. And the best thing is that you have them in the fridge!
Not exactly an ideal solution if you are trying to lose weight, but keep it handy as a protection against sunburns. Cut a raw potato into pieces and rub it on your skin. You can grate it and then use it as a compress to the affected skin.
If your entire body is burned by the sun, oatmeal provides the best kind of relief!
Grind a cup of oats in a food processor and add to the bath that you made earlier. Also, you can put them in cheesecloth, pour them with cold water and use as a compress every two to four hours.
Compounds containing catechins are great protectors against harmful sun rays. Tannic acids help with painful burns. Research shows that only two cups a day can provide a little extra protection from the sun. However, you should have in mind that it can not be the only protection from the sun.
If you have sunburns on your face, soak two green tea bags in cold water and place them on your eyelids. Tannic acid will relieve the pain.
