We all sometimes feel an intense desire for certain types of foods. This desire is normal, but in most cases you should be careful when you’re taking some food. Sometimes cravings for exactly certain types of foods may indicate to a lack of certain nutrients in the body. For example, a craving for red meat can mean that your body is low on iron.
Before you eat something, first drink 2 glasses of water to make sure you’re hungry, not really thirsty. Some studies have shown that about 80% of the world population are chronically dehydrated.
If you’re craving for chocolate, it is possible that your body is lack of magnesium. Chocolate is an excellent source of magnesium. A lack of magnesium can be solved by chocolate, but always choose the one that has at least 70% cocoa. But don’t forget that there are many other foods that are an excellent source of magnesium, such as nuts, seeds, fish and dark green leafy vegetables.
If you’re craving for sweets with refined white sugar, it is possible that you have problems with rapid changes in blood sugar levels. As blood sugar level starts to drop, you begin to feel the need for a food product that will quickly raise your blood sugar again. If you want to eat sweets and quickly raise your blood sugar, rather eat energy bars or integral biscuits, but still keep an eye on the amount.
