Heavy Pot Smokers Are Developing This Strange Condition. And The Remedy? Even Weirder!

Lately, there are number of reports about one strange condition that heavy pot smokers are affected of. So, as the number of pot smokers is increasing day by day, the strange effects are reported more often than ever.

The symptoms of this condition include: persistent nausea, vomiting and severe abdominal pain. The strangest about this condition is that anti-nausea pills cannot prevent it. It can be only relived with taking hot showers. But taking a hot shower or hot bath can only temporally relive the symptoms.

This condition is observed mainly at heavy marijuana smokers (it means smoking pot at least 20 days per month), and it’s known as cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS).

The study that Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology published says that 33% of the heavy pot smokers experienced these symptoms. But, there is no exact explanation why is this happening. There are several theories.

Why is this happening?

We know that the tetrahydrocannabinol in marijuana helps with the pain and it’s prescribed for that purpose. But there is one theory that triggering this system (tetrahydrocannabinol reliving pain) too often can induce CHS.

It is also very confusing because medical marijuana is used to treat nausea with patients who are going under chemotherapy. So, why is inducing nausea and not helping with it, we still don’t know.

As far as we know, the only safe way to stop CHS is stop smoking pot.
