Garlic is a vegetable that also has medicinal use. It is often used to help resolve colds, sore throat, coughs, sinus infections and externally for skin infections. It also helps reduce high blood pressure and blood sugar. It is also helpful to boost immunity for AIDS and treat Malaria.
Fresh garlic is the most effective to use medicinally, but some people can’t manage a raw clove. So you can chop it in small amounts, cook it or make it into garlic honey.
Making garlic honey is very simple for culinary or medicinal use. All you need to do is to chop up a whole garlic bulb, peel the cloves and then chop them. After the cloves are ready, put them in a clean jar. Then cover it with honey.
Now you need to cover the jar, label and date it and leave it for about 2-4 weeks. After that you can use only the honey, without the garlic. The expiration date of garlic honey is 3 months. Also you can add the honey to tea if you are having a cold, sore throat or a cough.
You can also make a coleslaw dressing with garlic honey. Here is what you need:
– 3 tablespoons of herbal vinegar
– 3 tablespoons of virgin olive or coconut oil
– 2-3 tablespoons of garlic honey
– ¼ teaspoon mustard seed
– ¼ teaspoon celery seed
– ¼ teaspoon pepper
Mix these ingredients and cover it with 1 cup of shredded carrot and 4 cups of shredded cabbage. Chill for 2 hours before you serve it.
