Every day, there are new discoveries of using baking soda. One of them is that it helps repair the hair. You can start by using baking soda instead of your regular shampoo.
Regular shampoos contain a lot of harmful ingredients. Here are some of them:
– Laureth sulfate
– Sodium lauryl
– DEA/ diethanolamine
Shampoos strip the scalp of natural oils, so it tends to increase oil production if you stop using shampoo, but this is only until your scalp adjusts. So you can try using the baking soda method, because it is cheap, simple, chemical-free and effective.
Here is how you can start:
At first you might find it hard to wash your hair without the shampoo foam, but be patient.
1. Baking soda
You can start by mixing one part of baking soda with three parts of water. If you have shoulder length hair you can mix two to three tablespoons of baking soda and three times the amount of water.
You can apply this on a wet or dry hair. After applying in from the root to the ends, wait for about 1-3 minutes and then rinse well.
When you are done with rinsing, you can apply the vinegar rinse.
2. Vinegar rinse
Mix one part of apple cider vinegar with four parts of water. If you can’t stand the smell of vinegar, you can add a few drops of peppermint, lavender or rosemary essential to this mixture.
3. How to apply it?
First, tilt your head back and close your eyes. Then dispense the rinse through your hair.
If you have a longer hair, tilt your head forward and close your eyes, and then dispense more of the rinse on the ends.
Wait for a few seconds, and then rinse your hair with cold water. This will smooth the hair, seal the moisture and add a healthy shine.
