Discussing nutrition and dieting will always lead to different views.
A scientific study into low-fat vs. low-carb
When it comes to losing body fat and weight loss, a recent study has shown that low-fat diets are much more effective than the low-carb ones. The study was conducted by a researcher, Kevin Hall from the National Institute of Diabetics and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). He monitored 19 obese adults divided into two, 2-week period.
Calculating the results
Kevin Hall came to the conclusion that both diets can help people lose body fat, but the best potential would have the low-fat diet, for overall fat loss.
On the low-carb diet, the participants burnt more fat over a shorter period of time, but less weight loss in the long run.
On the low-fat diet, the participants had the most weight loss.
But everyone’s body reacts differently, so we should find the most suitable diet for us, and stick to it.
Low-fat vs. low-carb diets: Which is the winner when it comes to losing weight?
According to a research the low-fat diet is better, because it offers the best chance of providing a long-term weight loss.
Also, be aware of the amount of refined sugar you consume, because the low-fat diet can lead to an increased risk of heart disease. Follow a diet that limits fat intake, such as healthy, whole foods (vegetables, fruits, whole grains) and also food that helps to lower the cholesterol.
