Why Sitting is Killing You?

Research conducted at the University of Leicester and published in the professional journal Diabetologia showed that long-term seating doubles the risk of developing diabetes and heart disease, but that risk is reduced in people who regularly practice some form of physical activity.

Seating means producing very low level of energy and it can be very dangerous, because your body thinks you are in the process of retention and storage of energy. As a result, the body becomes resistant to insulin and it leads to elevated levels of glucose in the blood, reducing the values of good and increasing the values of bad cholesterol. Altogether, these changes increase the risk of obesity, developing diabetes and heart disease.
